In celebration of National Hospital Week, Davis Regional Medical Center recently honored their Sunshine Volunteers with an awards banquet.  During the banquet, pins were awarded to volunteers who achieved milestones in volunteering.

In 2009, 95 volunteers contributed over 14,000 hours of dedicated service to the hospital and community.  The organization provided blankets for wheelchair-bound patients, caps for newborns, and comfort bears for pediatric patients.  In addition, they awarded $10,200 in scholarships for 19 students pursuing healthcare careers.

“Volunteers are a special group of people who generously give their time and talents. At Davis Regional, we are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated group of faithful volunteers who enrich the lives of our patients, visitors, staff, and physicians,” said Janie Stikeleather, Director of Volunteer Services.
