Getting Physical

Hundreds of students in Crawford County will begin athletic programs in the fall and all of them must pass a physical in order to participate.  This year the staff at Cornerstone Clinic and Internal Medicine & Associates, clinics operated by Summit Medical Center, volunteered to conduct the physicals free of charge for all Van Buren, Mountainburg and Cedarville students. The Van Buren physicals were held over three days in May at the athletic building with the Mountainburg and Cedarville physicals following in late May.  “All of our providers, physicians, and nurses volunteered their evenings after being in the clinic all day, to ensure the students were taken care of,” said clinic office manager, Trudy Leding.  “We are so proud of our staff for stepping in to make sure all the students could get the exams to participate in athletics in Crawford County,” added Leding. Cornerstone Clinic is located on highway 59 and Dr. Carney, Dr. Niba, Dr. Nouansavane, and Dr. Ross practice family medicine at the clinic.  Internal Medicine and Associates is located on Chestnut Street across from Summit Medical Center and Dr. Edwards and Jeannie Finley, APN practice primary care at that location as well
