The Licensed Practical Nursing students at Arkansas Tech University at Ozark honored a Respiratory Therapist at Summit Medical Center.Melody Miller-White was recognized as Respiratory Therapist of the year by the students. This is the first time the students have awarded a Respiratory Therapist with the honor. The LPN students make rotations at Summit Medical Center as part of their clinical curriculum. “Melody always takes extra time to help the students and educate them about Respiratory Therapy while they are here at our hospital,” said Kim Miller, Respiratory Therapy Director at Summit Medical Center.
The Respiratory Department at Summit Medical Center was also recognized earlier this year and earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (CRCR) under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals.
