Wellness NewsRita Stuart Offers New Classes at the Wellness Center!

Rita Stuart recently relocated to our area from Orlando, where she worked for Walt Disney World Company for more than 20 years. Rita was the administrative assistant to the vice president of Guest Operations Support Sevices for most of those years and also has a diverse background and certifications in dance and aerobic instruction. Come have fun with Rita with all the new classes she has added to the Wellness Center.

Some Saturday classes have been added to the schedule. Visit the Wellness Center for the new class line-up.

Body Parts:  An endurance/strength training class. High level, low impact. Weight training, as well as calisthenics.  

Sculpt & Tone: A body sculpting class that incorporates weights plus the use of a stability ball for added balance and core conditioning. It is finished with high-level abdominals.

Cardio Dance: Choreographed aerobic moves set to dance music. Weights and floor exercises complete the class. 

Circuit Training: This is an interval class, which combines strength and cardio for a total body workout. It’s fast-paced, fun and sure to challenge even the most conditioned.

Parkinson’s: This class will be addressing the challenges of Parkinson’s through a series of exercises designed to increase flexibility, speech, voice power, coordination and balance.

Hip Hop Dance Fitness: A low impact, high energy cardio, class using BASIC hip hop, jazz and Latin dance movements.  This class concentrates on having FUN while incorporating music, dance and isolation techniques into a well rounded workout.  Warning – very upbeat music!  (Suggested :  Bring water and a small towel – because you will sweat!!) 

Pilates: The Pilate’s mat workout is an exercise focusing on core strength, breath work and visual images. The Pilate’s philosophy focuses on training the mind and body to work together towards the goal of overall fitness.

Senior Balance: Using chairs and light weights, this class will focus on balance and stability geared toward seniors to help prevent falls.

Slow Motion: A slow paced class set to music and geared to those just starting out in the fitness arena.  Excellent for those coming out of physical therapy and rehab…it starts and ends with stretching and incorporates consistent and steady movement to strengthen and reinforce stability. All routines requiring balance can be done with or without a chair – sitting and/or standing behind the chair.  The key to a healthy life is to keep moving and this class turns that key.

Step Aerobics: A cardio strength training class. First half consists of cardio on the step. Second half uses free weights and floor work to build strength and muscle endurance. Stretching concludes the class.

Step Up Plus: Working on and “off” the aerobic step and incorporating basic dance this class is a combination of cardio, core and leg strengthening. 

Stress Management:  A class on how and why stress can destroy our bodies inside and out. Through breath techniques learn to meditate in order to manage stress.

Yoga (Hatha): Hatha yoga emphasizes breath work. Intermediate stretches performed in a series of movements.  Work at your own level while you focus on relaxation and proper alignment. Guided meditation ends the class.

Yoga  (Gentle): Designed specifically for the beginner or low level student!  Smooth gradual transitions; focus on breathing, stretching and relaxation technique.  Guided meditation, using creative visualization and aroma therapy, aids in a rejuvenating experience. (Suggested:  bring a yoga mat and a towel or small blanket)
